What side effects or risks are there?

Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of soap and water.
Ingestion: DO NOT induce vomiting - get medical attention immediately! Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with clean water - consult a doctor. Why am I not allowed to take poppers orally?
Poppers are intended exclusively as a room fragrance. Ingestion by mouth can lead to severe internal burns, poisoning or even death.
I have circulatory problems - can I use poppers?
No. People with low blood pressure, heart problems, respiratory diseases, epilepsy, ... should not use poppers under any circumstances. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure.
Can poppers damage my clothes?
Yes, the liquid attacks synthetic fibers, leather and certain dyes. If the bottle leaks or drips, clean immediately - and never use on textiles.
Can I also use poppers in the sauna or steam bath?
Urgent warning: Never!

Not recommended. The vapors can cause shortness of breath, coughing or seizures.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition, please avoid poppers altogether.
What effect does poppers have on blood pressure?
Under certain conditions, poppers can lower blood pressure quickly and significantly - hence the typical warmth and relaxation.
This can be dangerous for people who already have low blood pressure.
Can I use poppers for panic disorders or anxiety?
Strongly not recommended. The physical symptoms (palpitations, feeling of pressure) can trigger or intensify a panic attack.
What should I do if someone faints after poppers?
Extremely rare reaction:
Immediately provide fresh air (open window). Place person in recovery position. Call emergency services (112). Do not administer any other substance. Note: Emergency doctors know poppers - mention the name openly. |
